Affordable comfort in the desert: believe it
At a considerable price (many would consider it expensive), your money can buy you rest from all the hassles and bustles of life at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort hidden in the foothills in Tucson. The Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is part of the Loews chain of hotels (www.Loewshotels.com). This resort definitely wins the hearts and minds of people from around the world. From the five star rooms - seriously the bath tab is as big as a Jacuzzi, hi-definition TV in the bathroom for one to watch while relaxing, an amazing list of channels with music, entertainment and travel. I know, look at the photo of me in the bathtub, lol! That's what I'm talking about.
The hospitable staff makes you feel like you are home away from home. I, had the best Margarita drink in a decade, this is no joke. The architecture of the resort blends in naturally with it's surrounding making it very friendly and inviting.
Of course this is not a place for the budget traveler, but once in a while treating oneself to luxury makes life much more exciting - that is what I did with my friend on impulse. I seem to be doing the Resort getaway thing more and I like it more. Give yourself a treat and getaway!

"Quite simply impressive"
I personally went to the Hilton Hotel here in Tucson to check it out as a possible accommodation for all the Travbuddies coming to Tucson for the meet up. While I have personally not spent a night here, I was impressed with the refurbishment and new face. The rooms and they are great. I took some pictures to show you. Please carry your swimsuits, there is a pool and the hotel will be hosting a pool welcome with soft drinks and snacks for the Tbs. The pool will be heated up since the weather will be cooler this time of year.
What I did not see much of was teh warm and welcoming front desk team - the impression of any hotel will be impacted by the welcome. I spoke to the marketing manager sho I must commend for being very deligent.

Comfortable beds
The Radissons Suites are right next door to the Residence Inn Marriott on Speedway Boulevard. I only spent one night here about a month ago with my girlfriend Jackie who visited from Washington State. She had a Radissons pass so we really did not pay for the accommodation, nonetheless I wanted to relay my experience most of which is good. I think this is a really great property with spacious rooms and great service. They have great pool areas with a poolside bar that serves you when you are by the pool. Jackie and I had a graceful night by the pool and our service attendant John was the most pleasant person I have ever had serve me by the pool.
I am rating the hotel as above average and not excellent because each of their rooms is a suite, but they are laid out in a manner less suitable for suites. For the regular price of a little under $110, it is worth staying here. I loved the bed we slept on, very comfortable with fresh linen, I thought they used mountain dew to freshen the sheets.
I was however not very impressed with the location of our room, which was close to the pool area. The hotel has relatively loud music playing over the speaker by the pool, the sound was penetrated our room and made me a little uncomfortable seeing that I’m a light sleeper.
This is a gret hotel for business people, but I found girlfriends can have a great time here too.

A little more than Five Star
My friend Corinna won two free nights at the Star pass resort last year during a fundraiser for the Red Cross last year. She called me and asked if I wanted to stay with her over there during Christmas since I was not taking time off. I said no, but then another time she insisted we go on a hike and we ended up at the resort. It is nestled in the foot hills with beautiful desert background. In my day, I have stayed at many resorts hotel and usually it is Intercontinental, Hyatt, Novotel in Europe, Hilton or the Sheraton chain. I will tell you right now that this is a little more than first class especially the service. The landscaping, the architecture, the interior decorating was all top quality. JW Marriott in Tucson is top quality for the price you pat. For Marriott, JW Star Pass resort is their high end chain, and the Tucson hotel lives up to its name.
The outside sitting with fire places, the swimming pool and proximity to nature hiking – priceless.
For the business traveler, there is no better place to stay. I recommend this for all audiences; honeymooners, couples, girlfriends, business people, disabled.
All in all, awesome accommodation

Great suite with full kitchen
The suite was great and the housekeeping service was excellent. Front desk staff were pretty scripted but pleasant. Highly recommend this property for an extended stay because of the full kitchen. Trader Joe's (local grocery store) is across the street, so is Starbucks, Bookmans’ store, a bank right down the street, literally everything within walking distance.
I recommend this hotel for Girlfriend getaway, People with disabilities, Older travelers, Pet owners, Families with young children, Families with teenagers, and Tourists but if you are going on your honeymoon this is not the place.
What is also great is that you can make your own food especially for long stays.
