The drive between Boosier City and Natchitoches was slow going.  By this time the light rain had turned into a heavy down pour which in turn made driving treacherous.  Sadly, due to the heavy rain we were not able to do much except make the drive.  Upon our arrival in Natchitoches we went to the Old Court House Museum.  They had an exhibit deticated to the artwork of Louisiana native Mary Anne Pecot de Boisblanc.  Most of the paintins depicted the cajun lifestyle in which she grew up in.  It was close to four o'clock so we decided it was time to find where we were going to be staying the night.
The Loft in the Blessed House
We found the Blesses House Bed and Breakfast easily as it was located directly behind the Steel Magnolias House.  We were warmly welcomed by the innkeeper Cindy, who gave us a history of the house.  It was built in 1836 as a two story home.  It was added onto some time later by raising the house up on stilts and building a floor underneath the original first floor. The house served as a dressing room for the cast of the movie Steel Magnolias, due to the fact it was located directly behind the house in the movie Steel Magnolias.  We stayed in the room called the loft which was on the third floor of the house and had a king bed as well as a twin day bed.  It also had a huge claw foot bath tub.  The only way to reach our room was up a spiral stair case.  After some discussion it was decided to go ahead and have an early dinner.
The Loft in the Blessed House
So on a recomendation by our hostess, we went to dinner at the Mariner Restaraunt located on Lake Sibley.  The food there was wonderful.  All three of us tried fried alligator for the first time.  Then we headed back to the historic downtown (where our B&B was located).  We parked our car at our B&B and then went for a stroll along the historic Front Street.  With dark quickly approaching, we headed back toward our bed and breakfast.  While my mom went on up to our room, my sister and I ventured out in search of a ice cream before bed time. After driving around for a while we got some ice cream at the local Sonic and headed back to the B&B.  After a long but good day despite the inclimate weather, we turned the lights out at 11:00 p.m.
