Tour Guide Tony , we are passing Central Park west side .He could make a living as a comedian .

A good day today in spite of the cold weather , i am in that chinese run internet cafe in Bleecker street , the same lady was fussing around me rabbiting on and i quietly said 'i am sorry i cannot understand a single word that you have said ' , and she  left me alone , all of the clientel are english speakers , its not that it is for chinese users .They charge $8 per hour plus they have scanner/digi card reader/print facilities , this represents good value in New York , today i have seen places charging $12 per hour using old Crt screens and none of the facilities just mentioned , we are still in the dark with lights off ,it is difficult to see what you type here , the keyboard is black .

The lady understands the word dollar very well  by the way .

Bought from a street vendor..punnet of strawberries for $1.99 and 4 bananas (i already ate one) for $1 ... good value

This is a very interesting street  Bleecker street and well worth visiting , there is a pizza place opposite (Johns) and a queue of people outside it , same as yesterday and there is light rain , it must be a good eating place .The street is full of interesting fashion/art/antiquey/record  type shops as well as lots on restruants and mailbox stores , whatever they are.

This morning i took the bus tour of uptown manhattan  and saw (lots of traffic jams) we saw Central park , Harlem , St John the Devine cathedral , a mosque , a synagog .The busses are open topped and the guide uses a microphone , the uptown tour guide was Tony an Italian/New Yorker from the Bronx , small and over 60 he is a natural comedian  and full of jokes and good advice .

Sculpture of triumph of good over evil , next to St John the Devine

Later i did the downtown tour again , it was rerouted a little due to a film festival at Trebica , i got off at Lower east side to revisit some old haunts , at the south end of 1st Ave and 2nd ave it is busy , lots going on , quite a few chinese americans , since its close to chinatown .

I just love the accent here , especially when they say 'nooo jayerseee' ,also  so much for the fat american image , most of the people here are in good shape  and lots of the young are slim ,if u do see anyone overweight they are likely to be tourists from europe , i have thought about this and think it is because there is a lot of walking done here on a daily basis , just to get around . I have' nt been to other parts of US but i get the impression that the people here are happy , liberated and fearless  and it is  very cosmopolitan .
