the drive out of the canyon
I thought about leaving on Monday at first, but I realized 2 days just wasn't enough to really feel relaxed. However, Kelly and Ian did have to go back to Breck, and Colin wanted to meet up with a couple of his other friends to do some mountain biking, and the only way we could get in contact with them was to head into town (no cell service in canyons). So we packed up camp, said goodbye to our primo spot, and went into town to get some food. After lunch, Kelly and Ian took off, and Colin and I met up with DC and CZ, who took us to a campground just outside town near the trailhead for Slickrock. We set up our tents way up high behind some rocks that overlooked the La Sals to the east and where we could watch the sunset in the west, and where we could be protected from the early morning sun. The boys took off to do a quick ride while I held down the fort, then we started a fire and cooked up a huge meal when they got back. We definitely raged pretty good that night, then Colin and I argued back and forth for a while from our tents before finally falling asleep (good thing we set them up not near other people's campsites). I can't even remember what we were bickering about, but I was told more than once on this trip that we sound like an old married couple, which is funny since he's not my boyfriend.
