The Return To Melbourne
November 2, 2006
Well, left Hobart and made the 45 min trip back across the Bass Straight to Victoria and to the joys of Melbourne. Tasmania has been awesome, really enjoyed finaly seeing the place and wandering about down there after having heard so much about it. I must say though that I have had a rather nasty pang of homesickness because Tassie is so similar in climate and geography to Wales. I have found myself missing my family and friends quite a lot and hope that this will pass soon.
So, back to Melbourne, checked into the Friendly Backpackers on Kings Street, except that todays the day that they are being taken over by a new owner so its been renamed the Kings Street Backpackers and lo and behold, we have a free chinese meal tonight! Noyce! I shall be stuffing myself as full as an egg and then some! :)
So, what to do now that I have returned to Melbourne? Good question. I have knocked up a CV and will be sending it to various agencies as soon as possible. I will also be scouring the local rags / hostel billboards for work. Needs must and all that! Perhaps do a spot of fruit picking aswell, burn off the beer belly picking grapes or some such.
