Today we were up bright and early to catch one last Cusco sight ... the Qorikancha and walk down the Loreto to see Inca walls. Both interesting to see, then out to the airport for our flight to Lima... so we thought. The Qorikancha was an eclectic mix of Inca and Spanish, religious and modern museum - stone, glass and steel. The guide book says it was once covered in gold during the Inca times, but this was robbed by the Spanish, then a church was built on the site.
With 20 minutes to spare before our taxi ride to the airport we managed to squeeze in a final visit to the best French cake and coffee shop we have found... mmmmm chocolate cake.
On arrival at the airport the Air Condor counter was deserted... not a soul about. The LAN check in was totally over crowded... whew we thought, no crush on our airline. Soon to learn that Air Condor had ceased trading on 11 June. Bugger... what now?
Now we are sitting in an internet cafe, updating our blog. Having parted with a large sum of money we secured flights for tomorrow, we hope as the way we managed to arrange the ticket seemed rather drawn out and dodgey! Still, international travel in South America doesn´t always go to plan and we had a good run so far... a lazy day in Cuzco can´t be so bad aye... We attempted to visit the Air Condor office ... see photo... lol!!!!
Lima - it will be there tomorrow...
