Betty, Alice (my sis) and me...first much needed drink in the Big Easy
We arrived in New Orleans after an ungodly early flight (6:30am), dropped our stuff at hotel (DO NOT STAY at the St. Louis on Bienville St -- that review to come) and set out to explore. Alice (my sis) and her friend Betty had never been there before. We headed out to explore the French Quarter. Somehow, though, we managed to find all the bars....Met some really great people along the way, locals, bartenders, tourists. I do not recommend having raw oysters on an empty stomach and large quantities of alcohol though. We were out till about 9pm (yes, very very early) but we had a Habitat build the next morning at 7:45 am!!!! Met a really nice local, Christophe, showed me where to get a burger, gathered up the girls (not easy considering the booze we consumed that day) and headed back to the hotel. Off to sleep and to hammer nails the next day!!
