On the way we had met a guy on the bus who was a business man and spoke good english - got a lot of good info from him.- actually he reconfirmed the information not to go out after dark - sounds scary but its seems one of the initiation ceremonies for the gangs is to shoot some one - hence the infiormation not to go out - so this is not just some kind of story to scare the tourists!
Next morning we were leaving early so had no time to look around as we had a plane to catch to Roatan. On the way to the airport we noticed someone holding a paper of some riots ... wonder where that was ... ohhh hooo Tegucigalpa ! So thats what was going on - nice pictures with people covered in blood! Arriving at the airport we had to decided what company we fly with to Roatan - we didnt know who to fly wtih - suddenly a guy appears and asks where we want to fly too - Roatan - great come over to the counter we are leaving in 30 mins - this was more like a market place - people selling tickets - not really the same style as in the west!
Got the tickets - Karina Deutsch - ok - so they couldnt read our surnames - funny - the ticket is a hand written slip of paper - really very funny - never flown like this!
The plane is very modern - NOT! Not a modern airplane - the pilot leaves the window open to get some air! We fly low over the rain forest - oil coming from one engine - dont worry we are told! No space - no aircon - flying low over jungle - dont look down and dont think of anything bad! Stopped over as a transit stop in La Ceiba - got a boarding pass .
