The canals here are beautiful and it's really peaceful. Not too many people, at least while we were there.

Our first stop was De Sjees Grand Café for a great lunch.  Then we spent a few hours wandering around this beautiful little town taking pictures, looking into some gift shops and peering in to store windows.  This is a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.  The canals, houses and all are really quaint and it's really nice to enjoy the façades and canals without crowds of people!  I bought a little piece of Delft ceramics - a little box - as a souvenir of this trip.

After a while we went to have a beer on a terrace in a little square by the old church (Oude Kerk). The place is called "Café de Oude Jan" and it was a beautiful place to sit.  We were under an umbrella and it started to rain a little, but it was great nonetheless.  We sat there for a while and when the rain stopped we went for a last wander around Delft and then got back on a tram and this time headed beyond The Hague - in the other direction - to Scheveningen which is a seaside resort.
