The First Day in the "Big Easy"
We arrive in New Orleans from NY on Thursday morning and were able to check into our hotel (Maison St. Charles Hotel). I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to check-in early and start our exploration of the city.
Of course, with us 3...none of which had ever been to N.O., we obviously didn't know how to get ANYWHERE! We began walking towards the French Quarter, and then realized that it was quite further than we thought....thus began adventures on the streetcar! $1.25 later we were dropped off at the corner of Canal and Bourbon Streets.
We spent the first day drinking too many daiquari's and were pretty much drunk by 3pm. But that didn't stop us... however we did need "refueling". This is how I missed my very first TB meet-up! I was so bummed that my "nap" lasted longer than expected and then realized that the streetcar stop running outside our hotel at 11pm!! This evening was the beginning of playing phone tag with Dana (jerseygirl67). Needless to say, I was a little disappointed, but I knew that we had 2 more days to make it up!
