Christmas eve dinner at Rescue... I have no idea what Jason is doing
Happy Christmas Eve!!  I got to Vermont on the afternoon of the 22nd, walked in the door of rescue, and have been on duty ever since!  Luckily it's been pretty quiet, and besides some of the usual political issues, nice to be here.  It doesn't really feel like Christmas, but we have a tree that is decorated and I have a present under it and we are playing carols.  Today we went on a bunch of errands and I think I finished my shopping!  Woohoo!  I got a plastic kids doctor set for my niece (how can she not have one already with both parents as doctors??) and some maple syrup for my brother.  Lame, I know, but it was on his list and here I am in Vermont.  I also got some rain boots for the boat and that was a joke... the West Marine guy couldn't figure out a)why there was a girl asking about sailing equipment, and b) why I was wearing a uniform.  We straightened him out pretty quickly when he asked if we were full time paid employees.  Hahahahaha.....  I wrote some postcards to Marines, sat around on the computer (of course), went grocery shopping, and just spent the last hour cleaning quarters with 75 bleach wipes.  I am sad they are gone... because it's still pretty dirty here.  One of my Christmas wishes came true!!  A puppy came to rescue!!!  The door opened, and there was the police dispatcher holding this little poodleish type dog (it's cute, I swear) and I got to hold it and it licked my face!!!  If it's still there later I want to go see it.  Now we're waiting for our Intermediate to arrive... good times.  I want to watch Love Actually later and I guess we'll do dinner at some point.  Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!
