My comfy room at Hotel Carmel in Lima, Peru
Due to heightened security because of the recent terrorist attack gone bad, no liquids were allowed to be brought on board the plane. So, instead of carrying on as usual, I had to check my luggage, arrgh! I arrived at the airport in Lima
, Peru, safely. However, I waited, it seemed, almost 2 hours for my luggage to reach the baggage claim. There was a driver from Adventure Life arranged to pick me up. His name was Boris and I think he was from Lima. The ride from the airport to the hotel was about 45 minutes. Even at 1:00 in the morning on a Thursday, people were still out and about. Restaurants and casinos and other businesses were still open and were doing business. We arrived at the hotel where I stayed for just one night. The hotel was nice and the desk clerk was very nice and professional. Even another guest greeted me in a friendly way. My bag was brought up to my perfect little room which was small and cute. One of the windows didn't totally close so I was a bit chilly. Even with the smell of mildew and the loud music from the bar directly across from my room, I was content.
