DAY 3

Me and my girlfriend decided to take a short trip up to San Francisco just to get away from the Southern California environment and experience San Francisco's lifestyle.

DAY 3

This is our last day here before we fly back to Los Angeles. But today, I made sure I was going to do everything I left out on my list of things to do. First, clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. We headed off to the wharf around 9AM, where we knew that it wasn't going to be crowded... especially during that time of day. We went to the nearest one we could find. Me and Karen shared one, and I have to say that it's one of the best breakfasts that was the most affordable to me.

For the most part, we spent the rest of the morning walking around the wharf and checking out the various little shops that they had. There was so much chocolate and toys that I couldn't believe it! Then we went out to the pier to take a look at the sea lions that piled up on top of one another. It was funny and stinky at the same time!

After that, Clint took us to Carousel, which was right across the zoo. He's been preaching to me about this place ever since I've met him... so the hype was built up to a point where I couldn't take it. Well, I have to say that the burgers were great at such an affordable price. If I have enough time, I'll write a review about it... but for now, that's all I can say. The flight leaves around 2... but that basically summarizes the entire trip.

Ya know? I heard that same thing and this place - very stinky! I may avoid it when I make it out to SFO - whenever that is. Seems it's always through the airport only!

First of all, this is my first visit to the Bistro Boudin at the Fisherman's Wharf. I have to say that waking up early in the morning really does get you in the mood for some clam chowder in a breadbowl. It's basically what I've been craving ever since I arrived at San Francisco. If there was ever a more convenient location to get clam chowder in a sourdough breadbowl close to where we were staying, this is the place.

Gotta say that we loved the crab chowder. I ordered the bowl ($6) because it was delicious! We managed to scoop up the remains of whatever change we had in our pockets and get a big enough breadbowl for me and my girlfriend to share.

I would strongly recommend that any of you guys that are in the area next time get a clam chowder breadbowl from the wharf, either at the Crab Station or here. It's a good quick fix, but only if you guys have enough extra money to spend on souvenirs. But to sum it up in a sentence- "It was the best clam chowder I've ever had in California."

Of course we care, that is why we review. Chains are just Franchises that is why sometimes one location is better than the other. For instance, not every McDonald is the same even though they technically should be.

Every part of my meal was more than I expected. If you are going to the wharf, A. Sabella's is definitely one of the restaurants to go. I had the Steak and Lobster plate at $58 dollars... it was definitely expensive, but the steak was tender and flavorful, and the lobster was the type of quality that you find at one of those elegant cruiselines. It was some of  the best food I had ever experienced. The service was excellent, as they attended to all of my needs without me having to get their attention. If you are looking for a great environment with some great food... and is willing to throw in a few bucks for a good plate, this is definitely the place to be.
