the earliest record mentioning this area as a capital city can be traced to tarumanagara as early as the fourth century. In 397 AD, king purnawarman established sunda pura as a new capital city for the kingdom, located at the northern coast of java. later on the name changed to sunda kelapa, jayakarta, batavia and finally jakarta, as the changed of ruler in this capital city of now days indonesia. now the remains of each era still can be traced down in some area in jakarta.
