Whenever enough people congregate in the "kitchen" at Trippys, one of the maids will start making breakfast.  There was some kind of loose first come first served system.  It was decent enough, and best of all, FREE.  After breakfast, i walked down to the lake to take some photos.  Later that day, i was hanging around Trippys when some dudes were talking about making there way to Lanquin to see Semuc Champey.  Since that was my intention, i asked if it was alright if i tagged along.

After lunch Jeff, Sebastian, 2 Codys, and 2 girls i never learned names of, set off to Panajachel, across the lake.

San Pedro
Apparently, the best way to get to Lanquin was through Pana.  So, we hired a boat to take us across the lake in the afternoon.  We found the worst hotel i have ever stayed in in Pana.  At the others insisntance, we found the cheapest room we could find.  It was located in this super dodgy part of town, down this dark alley.  The room itself was nothing less than depressing.  The bedding was disgusting, and rat poo and urine decorated the floor.  It smelled like a sumo wrestler's crouch, trust me, i lived in Japan.  To top it all, no running water.  I guess that is what 4 dollars per person gets you in Panajachel.

We found a tour company and Jeff bargained with him until we secured the trip for 1500Q all the way to Lanquin.

After dinner and a few drinks i tried to get some sleep for the long journey that would come the next day, but one of the girls had better plans than that.  A couple from the group wanted to walk around the city later, so they lock us in from the outside for some reason.  When the loony tune awoke she frantically beat on the door and raised all kind of fuss.  The landlord came down to the door and a comical one sided dialogue ensued.  You see, the landlord did not speak english, and the crazy bird didnt speak spanish.  So, i let her freak out for a few minutes, and then i informed her, that her friends will be right back.  This is going to be one hell of a trip with these whack jobs.
