Antigua, Guatemala

After breakfast of eggs and toast, i arranged a shuttle through the hostal to Antigua for 96Q.  Of course you could take the chicken bus for alot less dinero, but you would have to get a cab to the bus stop, and i had never been to Antigua, so it was much easier to take the shuttle.  The shuttle was a very comfortable van with only one other passenger.  After 45 minutes the van dropped me off at the door step of Jungle Party Hostel.  I was told this was a good hostel by some Dutch girls on the bus from Flores

Jungle Party offers breakfast that is included in the 60Q dorm room price.  But this is no ordinary hostel toast and jam breakfast.  This hostel gives you a choice of any 8 breakfasts from pancakes and French toast to eggs and breakfast burgers.

Jungle Party
All plates come with fruit, and every breakfast I had was very good.  The Jungle Party makes it really easy to relax and waste away the day with plenty of bean bags, hammocks, and hammock chairs.  A large flat screen television showed movies twice a day, all day on Sundays and special events like football games if you request it.

After checking in, I explored the streets of Antigua.  Then, I had some beers at the hostel, 20Q for Victoria, 10Q during happy hour.  The hostel does shut down at 10pm, and I really mean shut down.  They turn off he tele, turn off the lights, lock everything down, and everything gets very quiet ssshhh.

Pretty much the entire hostel went out together to Monoloco.  This was much fun, plenty of locals and tourists partying.  It was a good night; however, in Antigua the bars close pretty early, I think they shut down at 1am.  I can’t really recall secondary to the amount of alcohol consumed.
