Enjoying the spring!
May 3, 2008
Since it's the third free day here in Poland (Day of the Constitution) - all malls are closed, and every one is trying to spend this granted time as good as possible - so do i - and i decided to go out of town on my bike again:)
This time it's the southern part of the region. The country side near the town is more like the far part of the city, so i went a bit farther, going some 15km from the city limits. I was trying to make a loop which i never did, and with a map in my head i was discovering the rural places.
The villages here are like thousend of kilometers from any more sofisticated civilization, but it's also a peaceful place, just like i wanted it to be.
I got lost at a certain moment but the people helped me by showing the right way (thx buddy from Czasław sitting in your garden!;)
After few kilometres in the forest i arrived in Zatonie - it's a special place here, cuz there are ruins of an old church (of St. John - LOL JOHN it's urs!) and a Palace which was unfortunately demaged in the WW2 and was never restored. At the Palace there is a huge park, of which in the communism time nobody cared, but which is still a beautiful place with nice rare plants.
From Zatonie i wanted go straight home but in the middle of my way i decided to choose the longer way through the forest, where i wasn't so far. Unfortunately i didn't manage to take a pic of a huge beautiful deer, which i saw here. There were also sents of wild swins, but it's not so easy to see them at the day. I knew the forest in general but noth this particulary part of it. And as you can immagin i got lost again, but after i saw a bike trial sign i knew there is not that far to where people live:) And i was right. (did i mention i always do?)
