Sitting on the stage of the Tortoni Cafe near the heart of Buenos Aires.
This was a pretty 'normal' week in Buenos Aires
. There aren't any exciting stores which is perfectly fine by me. I have settle into a routine of getting up most mornings to run or lift. This is followed by my toast and juice for breakfast. I always head the the same cafe at about 10:30am. Of couse I order the same thing so they normally start making it when I enter. The cafe is chosen because of the free internet so I log on, work on email and sometimes study. I have a 1 hour private class at noon which is followed by an hour break which I use to each lunch and finish my homework at a restaurant next door. I then have a group class with two other students from 2-6pm.
My regular breakfast. A glass of organge juice and two pieces of toast with Dulce de Leche.
After class I head home and normally read some english to free my mind a little until we eat dinner around 8:30pm. After dinner I either head back to my room or to a cafe for more studying.
I think I am studying more while I am here than I was doing last term at Michigan. I am normally pretty worn out and frustrated by the end of my classes on any given day and don't really feel that my Spanish is getting any better....but that is life.
This week I also went to two shows. A tango show at Buenos Aire's famous tortonie cafe which was more of a musical with Tango and cost about $20 (60 pesos). I also went to see the musical RENT with my Spanish school. For some reason I had this crazy idea that it might be performed in English. I definitely was wrong about that but at we were in the 3rd row.
