A real-time blog of my visit to this beautiful country of contrasts.

Cartagena here I come

Cartagena, city of colour and flowers

About to board the flight from Bogotá to Cartagena for five days sailing. Las Islas des Rosarios is the plan, wind and waves permitting. So Watch this space.

06 May...

Back from one of the most memorable trips of my life! 4 days with three great friends (and Paddy the Teddy) on the high seas. We explored the wonderful walled city of Cartagena, ate at a few excellent restaurants and climbed aboard my pal's wooden boat and sailed into the sunset (quite literally).

We glided down to Las Islas Del Rosario, about 40 odd Kms south west of Cartagena, we anchored in various bays, snorkelled to the coral reefs, barbequed at sun down and slept babies till sunrise. Just bliss. See some of the pics that 'bear' this out.

Must say that I cannot recommend the city of Cartagena and the Rosarios highly enough. One thing is for sure, I'll be back.

Paul, make sure Teddy has his life vest on. We wouldn't want anything to happen to him.
