An awesome bar to go for tapas in Madrid. They have a small terrace and in the summer it is quite difficult to find a free spot! We got lucky and we stayed there for a couple of hours!

Horario: 14.00 - 3.00
It is an awesome spot in "La Latina". In the first floor the serve dinnner and they have a small terrace. In the second floor you go for drinks, and the in the third floor you have a beautiful balcony. They serve drinks and coacktails and you can have a nice beer while you sunbathe! If is funny how packed you find it on a saturday and sunday afternoon. A few weeks ago i went there after lunch and I found tons of people in the second floor having drinks... 4pm..! amazing...! if you are in La Latina, you have to stop by there!

If you are not very price sensitive then it is a good option. It is one of the best located hotels in the city, just in the middle of Gran Vía. You even have the subway in front of the hotel. For those who do not know where is Gran Vía, it is a popular street known by its theaters all along. You also have Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol very close from there (walking distance). The service is good, the rooms are ok, nothing special. I paid 129€ per night including breakfast. If you decide to get a room there, ask for a room facing Gran Vía. 3 and 4 star hotels in the city are quite expensive, so it is not that expensive. The shower is ok except for the fact that the shower is has only one position.. mmmmm :( However, breakfast was quite good!... I am attaching several pictures....

This is the most popular place to have a traditional "chocolate con churros". It is been there since 1894, so its a one of those places everybody knows in Madrid. One of the best things is that it is open all night long, so if you go out and late and night you get hungry, go there! It is one of those local experiences you must go through! Don´t remember if it is expensive or not, but I doubt it! It is in "Barrio de La Latina". If you go there on Saturday or Sunday you will find many people in the stree, and you might find it packed! they have a small terrace outside, so you will probably have to wait to get a table.

Do not miss this place! if you want to have some tasty tapas and eat in a very original and traditional place, this is the place. And if you have any doubts just check the photos I am attaching. Dinner came up to be 25€/each. Besides food we had a bottle of red wine "Muga" from La Rioja. If you do knot know Spanish wines that well, that is a good option, and I believe a bottle was 26€. Service was awesome, well they have been there for years and years, so they know how to treat tourists. It is next to Plaza Mayor, very close to the oldest restaurant in the World (Casa Botín). Very close from there you have flamenco shows (i am writing a review about it). The "Calamares a la andaluza" very very good indeed! ;) By the way, it is not a very large group, you don't have to reserve...

Go! If you like flamenco shows just do not doubt it! It is next to the Plaza Mayor and meters from El Mesón Rincón de la Cava, which I also wrote about. We were passing by and I just saw they were playing at that right moment. Inside you had 20 or 30 tables with people from all over the place, and in the stage, 6 people dancing flamenco. The show lasted almost an 2hours and it only cost 10 euros, for the show plus a drink. I am not sure whether they have always the same people, but the show was really good. I ended up considering to take some flamenco classes. During the show I got goose bumps I dont't even remember how many times... spectacular show!
Before going just call to check if they are playing that night. Next Tuesday and Wednesday they are playing.. not sure about the other week days!

Incluso van DJs a tocar música...
Well, this weekend I went there to have a coffee and they treated me quite bad. I was ordering a typical coffee in Spain and they were quite rood. The worst was when I took a picture and the person in charge yelled at me saying that I could not take any pictures with no people in the photo. Well anyways, the place is awesome but the service sucks! Later she apologized and told us she had a bad day... mmmm don´t know, I just think service is one of the main things in a restaurant and they did not pass the test!

Yesterday one of my friends took me to "La Latina" for dinner. He told me there was a place somebody recommended him, so he wanted to take me there. He knows how much I like to discover new places :) Well, it was very close from "El Viajero", a very popular restaurant/bar/terrace in the area. When you enter the place there is always people, having very high quality tapas and nice wines. I recommend "Vino de Toro" it is an area where they produce a very good wine, quite trendy today... The atmosphere is just superb, although it is for people in his/her old twenties or thirties... not too many young kids... It seems to be that is a very popular place, everybody knows about it!

I haven't stayed in this hotel but just saw its hall and it looked really fancy. It is very close from Puerta del Sol. Rates were quite high, If I don´t remember wrong, it was around 140€ per night. I ask for its rates, but they told me it varies and you can get them any moment in the internet. I am enclosing its web address. Next time I have to book a hotel, I will get a room there, it is just very different to what I have seen so far. The reason I found it is because next to it you have an awesome restaurant. Its name is "La viuda negra & viuda blanca". If you want to have a fancy meal go there, it´s one of those fashion places!.. :)

If you are thinking of celebrating a fun night having unexpensive seafood, this is the place! it is not fancy and you will only find paper towels on the table, but it is soooo unexpensive compared to other seafood places in Madrid. I might not recommend it for a romantic dinner with your boyfriend/girlfriend, but if you are going with friends and family it is just very different.
The dishes are hughe so if there are 6 of you going just order a platter of seafood (mariscada) for 4. I also recommend white wine. Alvariño would be the option if you are a local but just becareful with your hungover next day. It is a very sweat wine, very tasty, but a killer if you asked me. I went there on Thursday, and I almost died at work next day!
On the wall you will find notices such as..."It is not allowed to sing" hhahah imagine? a seafood place saying such things... By the way, they also prepare seafood platters to take away! If you go by "metro" you need to stop at "tribunal". Call to book a table or you will NOT find an empty table.

This is one of those modern bars with good atmosphere and a very comfortable place to be. We went there after lunch. Some of us had coffee, and I had and incredible "Mojito"! People there was very friendly. There was a projector playing a black and white picture... do you know which one? and old episode from Tarzan. Hahaha that was cool! I am not sure if they serve food, but I will come back to have a drink at night. I am attaching several pictures from the place so you get an idea. If you are walking around "La Latina" just pay them a visit, you will not regret it. By the way, there was air conditioning and outside was very hot...

Organic Market & Vegeterian Buffet!
I wouldn´t know whether to categorize this place as a restaurant or as a bar. As you enter the place you find a bartender serving cocktails (mojitos, caipirinha, daikiris, etc) on your right. And then you find a buffet with healthy and vegeterian food. The most original thing is the way they charge you, it goes by weight (100 grms = 2.10€). Food was excellent!!! By the way it is also an organic market, so you can buy food to take away!
It is a fun way to spend some time having a drink and eating some healty stuff. There are two floors, the first floor is more like a cafeteria and the second floor is where they serve dinners. The funniest thing is how the bathrooms look. I am attaching a photo of the lady´s room! (don´t ask me why I was there! Hehehe)
When you exit the place, take a left and you will find a couple of bars to have an excellent mojito!
