Carra, a girl I met here that’s from Kentucky, told me that she heard from multiple people that although Spain is a laidback country, the people of Portugal are even more laidback.  And it’s so true.  The atmosphere is so laidback here that it could be a problem!!  And real quick!

I had planned on going out and about today as I got up and it was bright and sunny outside!  But by the time I finished breakfast … foggy and rainy!  So I figured I’d  just wait it out a little bit.  Cut to an hour or so later and while it had stopped raining, Carra and I were both still in the hostel!  I blame it on laidback Portugal!

We finally made out into the city and proceeded with a general wandering around and getting lost in Porto until we hit a church or place of interest to visit, did some shopping, brought some wine back to the hostel, watched movies, ate, relaxed, had wine… and basically just chillaxed.  That’s just the vibe here.  And it surrounds you, and soaks into you, and it’s awesome.

Carra and I bonded over our common laziness and not wanting to go back home to the U.S. and work!  As she put it we’re both ‘whatever’ people which was nice.  It's always nice to travel with people of similar mentality!
