today was supposed to be spent in evora, but due to transportation issues it never happened! no worries though because lisbon was big enough that there was plenty of stuff left to check out. i spent the day walking the city checking out malls, gardens, lisbon's bull ring, movie theatres, souvenir shopping, and started packing! :0(
around 5 in the evening is when i discovered i was broke. my travel bank account was hacked and over $1,000 had been spent in random places - in the USA! i was pissed because my bank knew i was out of the country and they still allowed these charges. what the heck?? but like sam said, at least it happened now and not three weeks ago at the beginning of the trip or something. i spent hours on the hostel's phone making fraud reports and figuring things out, and the hostel staff by the way couldn't have been nicer/more supportive about the whole situation! they were more than willing to help in any way they could and even checked on me after the fact. sweethearts, every single one of them!
p.s. met a chick from alaska who's traveling for 10 months! jealous!
