First glance at our ship - it's HUUUUUGE!
We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale around 9 am and took the Royal Caribbean (RC from here on) shuttle bus to the Miami port. We had to wait until 11 to leave the airport though, since that was the first shuttle of the day. When we finally got to the port, we started to go through the checking in procedure before we made our way through customs. After clearing customs, we had to wait in this huge lobby until our number was called to begin boarding the ship. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be, but we were anxious to get on the ship and begin partying.

After we had our picture and id's checked a million times, we finally walked through a zigzag queue and set foot on the Majesty of the Seas. This was the first cruise for both Troy and myself; we had no clue what we were in for.
Let the partying begin!
The queue brought us right onto the 4th deck of the ship, where we were greeted with huge smiles from the crew and complete confusion as to where to go first. Eventually, we decided to head towards the lunch buffet, since we could not check in to our rooms until at least 2pm. The food was AMAZING, and this was only the "welcome aboard" luncheon! We killed some time in the dining room before heading to our room.

When we arrived to our (inside) cabin, we were a bit surprised about just how small the room was, but since we knew it would be small from the beginning and since we didn't plan on spending much time in the room, we dropped off our stuff, grabbed our cameras, and went exploring.

The ship was HUGE - it had 14 decks in all - we were most impressed by the top decks where we found the rec area (half court basketball and two ping pong tables), the rock wall, and of course, the swimming pool area. We were like kids in a candy shop - we didn't know what to try first! Unfortunately, we didn't have too much time to play with because we had the mandatory muster drill at 4:30.

5pm and we're off! We slowly pulled away from the dock and sailed down the harbor and out to sea. Troy was already playing ball with his new friends, so I sat down in a lounge chair and watched Miami fade away.
