Bill & Chay

With TB Chay ( As usual, I got up and turned my computer on, but did not check any messages. I went to the Kitchen made coffee and sat down to watch the news. At about 10:00 am, I decided to go shopping in preparation for my trip to Africa, normally I would have check my messages, sent a few comments to TB’s and a few welcomes. For some reason I did not. Meanwhile, there was a message in my inbox with the title "Will be in Tucson". 12:00 noon I'm done with shopping (2 hr shopping is a girl thing, it's normal, lol!). I get back, Adam calls me for coffee and it's freaking 98 degrees and I'm wondering if coffee is in fact a good idea - 2:30 ok? I asked him. 'Yes he responds, I will come by your place.

Bill, Me & Chay
And so Adam arrived promptly at 2:30 p.m.: coffee and See's chocolates and "Bourne Identity" movie later, I decide to check my messages. It is 4:35 p.m. and there is the message:

"Hey, I will be passing through Tucson tomorrow on my way to San Diego. I don't know what your Memorial Day plans are but I just thought I'd drop you a line since I will be unexpectedly traveling through your town:) Give me a call if you don't have anything going on). And he leaves his phone number. The message was from Chay, ( He and his friend Bill, both college students were driving from Arkansas to San Diego to start a class on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.

The dinner party: Bill, Me, Chay, Adam & Tim
Well, I immediately called him and sure enough they were still three hours away from Tucson. We agreed to meet for dinner at about 8:00 p.m. I called my friend Tim to join us to make the party merrier and ended up being the only girl among 4 gentlemen (In other worlds I, was popular, heheee). Adam, Tim, Bill, Chay and I had dinner at "ON THE BORDER Mexican Grill & Cantina".

After dinner, Adam decided to leave as he was having sleepy eyes, the rest of us went back to my place where we each had a drink of Rum & Coke, Tim being the red wine drinker decided to pop the wine (I, should introduce him to Joy and James, lol!). Chay and Bill wanted to hear the sound of the African beat, so I played some African pop to which Tim & Chay really identified hahaaaa! Some serious dancing and I got to be swung around more than once by Chay who I must say is such a happy soul. I should have tested his Russian: Hey Chay, that's your test enroute to Arkansas, so make another stop, lol! I, must say Chay and Tim are quite the dancers, lol! Bill on the other hand was the silent watcher, he enjoyed the music and watched as Tim, Chay and I made a fool of us.

On the Boarder Restaurant: Can you believe they were absolutely strangers to Tim an hr earlier?
I bet my neighbors were wondering what was going on since I normally don't play such loud music. I guess it was not that loud as the cops did not come to tell me I was disturbing the peace, lol!!

We all retired about 1:00 am. The boys hit the road the next day at about 10:00 am headed to San Diego. Since I have not heard from them, I'm assuming they arrived well - no news is good news. Finally I heard from Chay, three weeks, jeee wizz Chay.
