Awww me and Dario
As I haven't been spending much time with my mates over the past couple of months and no time at all with Dario a whole day was set aside to catch up, spend time together and do Londony things together.

We met at Picaddilly Circus by the statue.  I was, for the first time since we've known one another, late. Finally I got one back on him.   I'm not sure why but he is the only person I'm ever on time for,  its not intentional, the planets just seem to align and plonk me there on time.  Dario, on the other hand is always late.   So it was quite a special start to the day.

From Picadilly Circus we walked to the Royal Acadamy of Arts to see the Modigliani exhibition which was lovely.   It was smaller than most exhibitions with only 3 rooms,  we were through in about half an hour.

It was an uncomfortable exhibition to see because it was so busy and there were so many students sitting on the floor drawing thier pictures.  I'm pants at drawing so I love looking over their shoulders watching them.  Coming out through the gift shop Dario bought me a postcard of a nude which is just beautiful.

We wandered aimlessly for a while and found ourselves on New Bond Street.  Oh the stores!! I much prefer actual shopping to window shopping but I have more a Topshop budget than a Nicole Farhi budget.  Window shopping was fabulous.  Somewhere near to the end of the street was a store with the most amazing antique jewellry.  The jewellry was just incredible and entirely out of my price range.
So with the decision to have a late lunch somewhere overlooking the Thames we headed off to the tube.
Grey grey skies, grey grey Thames.
Not quite making in past the Apple store we ducked in and came out with new speakers in a little case that will be fab to use in India.

So onto the tube and off at Embankment we wandered over to South Bank and walked along the river towards Oxo Towers.

The skies were typically grey and trying very hard to hold the rain back.   We got to Oxo at around 4.30 and the restaurant was closed! I was starving not having eaten all day, so we settled into their bar to wait out the hour before our reservation with a bottle of Champagne.   The champagne was divine the company perfect and the cheese platter a little light on cheese.
It was all just perfect.  On the 8th floor overlooking the Thames I was exactly where I wanted to be.

Its amazing how fast an hour goes when you're getting quite drunk.  Dinner was nice although I was quite full by the time we got the mains and I think Dario ate half of my steak.  I'm such a meat eater these days!
The entrees was absolutely delicious we shared buffalo mozzarella encased in bacon and some other cheese thing that looked like a custard tart.

We shared a bottle of red and finished off getting totally sozzled.  I can't remember why we left but when we did we didn't get far.
We stopped at the next restaurant on South Bank for desert... although I don't remember having any.  Just Baileys.  Oh we stopped for espressos!! We had espressos and Dario ordered us Grappa. ergh. I feined sipping mine I just smelled it which I believe singed the hairs up my nose.  When Dario wasn't looking I poured my Grappa into his shot glass and ordered myself a Baileys. We had 4 drinks I think before we left, although my memory is a little patchy.

I have a sore head today and I'm a little fragile but nothing like what I expected to be, must have been all the food.
Its nearly 2pm and I'm meant to be packing but I still can't get myself motivated
