Blue Mountains took all my blues away...
April 20, 2008
This was one of the best morning wake ups I've ever had. Thanks to the panoramic view of the jamison valley from my window at York Fairmont Hotel. Though cold and foggy, it was a perfect day to go to Echo Point and walk the a bushwalking trail that leads to the Three Sisters and down further to the valley floor.
---------------------------------
We all knew we were faced with yet another long day, so we all started early, and by 8AM, we were done with our breakfast inside the hotel. We decided to check-out early so we needed not to come back to the hotel after doing the Three Sisters walk.
It was drizzling thay day, and fog was thick that we could barely see the view outside the hotel. We were told with such kind of a weather, we will just be wasting our time at the Echo Point.
But positive as we were, we still pushed though with the plan, phoned a taxi that arrived immediately, and in less 10 minutes, we were already in one of Katoomba's highest spots- The Echo Point.
In the souvenir shop at Echo Point were a few tourists who somehow looked worried about the weather. It was still drizzling. Damn! It was so cold that morning that we, coming from a tropical country who are not used to cold temperatutes, needed to wear our thick jackets on. We didn't mind getting wet as we were all excited to see one of UNESCO's World Heritage Areas. And so by just following the directions that point to the site, we started walking down the trail.
