A day around & cruise on the Earnslaw
November 5, 2007
Today we thought we would just have a look around the town centre of Queenstown which is not very big. We were staying just one street up from the main street but of course it is on the side of a hill so the walk there was ok. The walk back was a little bit more challenging! After having enough of shops, we headed back to Arrowtown for lunch. A very cold day today. We then went back to our accommodation and got ready to go on our cruise on the Earnslaw. For some reason Andrew always called it the Oscar. The Earnslaw took us across to a homestead called Walters Peak. We had our dinner there and then in one of the sheds there was a sheep shearing show. Of course it was getting dark now and it was time to reboard the Earnslaw and return to the Queenstown wharf. After a drink in the casino and losing a couple of dollars our night had come to an end. Time for bed. Oh yes it was Guy Fawlkes night. I was disappointed not to see any displays of fireworks in Queenstown. There was however locals still letting off fireworks into the early hours of the morning.
