Andrew & a fire truck
This morning we returned the hire car and were dropped back into the city. We wandered around and on our way back to our accommodation called into the fire station. A bit later we walked to Te Papa, the museum, and had lunch there before wandering back to our digs to get picked up by the tour bus. We thought we would do a 'Highlights tour'. It was a 20 seater bus and we were the only ones on the tour. We did see a couple of things that we saw yesterday but saw some other things that we would not have found in the couple of days there. One of those things was the old church which is now privately run. St. Paul's. It is beautiful and can still be use for weddings or funerals etc. We also went up to the top of the hill, which is at the top of the Botanical gardens, so you can walk up and back if you want to. The tram car goes up there and they have a little museum. We were going to have a ride on the tram, maybe to go to the restaurant there that night. Wouldn't you know it, the trams were closed down for maintenance so the restaurant wasn't open for dinner! Oh well never mind. We had a lovely day, had dinner a short walk away from our accommodation and then it was time to unwind and go to our uncomfortable bed.
