Twin Coast Rd. to Whangarei

We picked up our hire car and headed out over the bridge. Andrew as usual said "we will just see where this road takes us", we ended up in a little town called Leigh, a stones throw from Goat Island ( there is a ferry that goes form Auckland to Goat Island). Pretty little place though. We turned back to the highway and decided along the way to have lunch. We called into a small pub and had a basic but nice pub meal. While waiting for lunch I played on the pokies and by the time lunch was served I had won enough to cover the cost of lunch. We finally got to Whangarei. We went out to Whangarei Falls and it is pretty there.  When we got back to Auckland we had dinner then went to the Skycity casino for a while. I lost, Andrew won, so we would have broke even. We had tea and coffee and then headed back to our appartment.
