A trip to visit friends so we took more time to do the tourist thing.

Auckland Museum

Today we went to the Museum. Worth going to. Andrew is into the war memorabilia and the Maori cultural stuff was good. After that we went for a drive to find a gem stone place called 'Crystal Mountain'. A wrong turn but we got back on track. Andrew went down in the lift to see some of the fossils etc while I wandered around the shop. I didn't buy anything! From there Andrew decided to go up a steep, windy & narrow road. We think there was a lookout at the top but part way up the car started playing up. I was starting to get worried, there was no where to turn around, the road was so narrow and a long drop off the edge. There was no phone reception up there either! Finally Andrew got us turned around and on the way back. It didn't play up so much but we took it back to the car rental office. They gave us another car but this had mucked up our afternoon so although we went for another drive, we couldn't venture too far. Then time for dinner and to prepare ourselves to leave in the morning.
