It's getting hot hot hot

Today we went to spend the day at the beach on the other side of the island. It was a nice hot day and a relax on the beach is just what was needed. It took just under 2 hours drive to get there, which gave us a chance to check out the country side – not much to see. We did see quite a few large marble quarries on the sides of the hills.

This beach reminded us a lot of home, nice long stretch of white sand with people scattered all over. We found our spot near the water and took a quick swim to cool off after the long drive. Next of course was to lie and relax. Which is pretty much all we did all day except for the odd splash in the water. It was great.

Later in the day the wind started to pick up and so the beach sand blowing around wasn't so relaxing. We jumped in the cars and headed back to Palermo. Unfortunately there was an accident or two on the motorway so it took quite a while to get back. Bec had a nice little nap in the car.

It was late by the time we had made it back and of course the plans to have a quick meal nearby and have an early night were shot down as soon as we made it home. We quickly showered and got changed and headed out to meet some other friends of Francesco and have some dinner. We eventually sat down to eat around 10.30pm. I think it was some time after midnight by the time we got to bed.
