Time to hit the beach

We had a fairly early train to Rome so once breakfast was over it was time to grab our bags and head to the station. We splashed out a little and went on the Eurostar as the regional trains took way to long to get to Rome and we didn't want to be arriving too late in the day as we were meeting Melissa.
Our hostel was actually a 4 bunk bungalow in a county club about an hours public transport from the centre of Rome. Beautiful surroundings with a beach nearby. The website said 30mins to centre but we've learnt that if they give any time or distance to something then double it or more to get the real figure.
In the afternoon we all walked down to the beach. It took us about 45 mins to walk there so it definitely wasn't 1.5km and then we were quite disappointed to find a grey dirty sand beach that nobody was swimming at. There was a cafe so we sat for a bite to eat and a drink only to find out they had just stopped serving so we headed down the road a bit and ate something there.
The club offers a regular coach transfer between the train station and club so we made use of that and headed back. Bec and Melissa went for a swim in the pool while Craig booked the next destination - Sorrento and got some information on day trips to Capri, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. That night we had a great meal at the restaurant in the club which was surprisingly cheap.
