Fun at the big market

Kick started the day with a yoghurt drink (been having these quite a lot lately) and headed out into the town for another day of sightseeing.  Yesterday while looking for paella we stumbled across a large closed building which housed the big daily market - so that was our first port of call.  The building looked big from the outside, but it's huge on the inside with so many stalls.  Any and every food you could think of was available there.  Stall after stall of top quality butchers meats including pigs heads.  Lots of fish mongers with wide variety of fresh fish and shelfish.  Heaps and heaps of fruits and vegies.  While travelling the fruit intake definitely takes a nose dive so we tried to make amends by getting a punnet of cherries, apples and some other fruit.

We both had some stuff to post so we headed to the post office.  What we didn't realise is most post offices are just a series of counters to pay for postage, but we needed envelopes and some scanning done so it was no help.  It took quite some time looking for somewhere to get the envelopes and scanning done but we did - unfortunately it was nowhere near the post office so we decided to worry about that another day.

The bullfighting ring was just nearby so we went there and took a look in the museum (which is free).  It contains history of bullfighting as well as a number of costumes of various bullfighters - alot of them are the clothes they died in and you can see the holes and rips in them where the bull got in.  We also got to take a quick look into the bullfighting ring.  It looks quite big from the outside, but it seems a lot smaller when inside.  We were close to the hostel so we headed there for a siesta and to eat the fruit.

Later that afternoon we headed out for a drink at a nearby cafe and then into the cathedral square for more paella.  This time we had the seafood one at a different restaurant.  It was very tasty, but not as good as we've had before in London or Ibiza.  That night we played trivial pursuit in the hostel and Bec won - but only just.
