The start point...Kansas City airport.
I arrived in LA on Thursday evening and spent the night at a friend's home in Glendale. The next morning I had to take a recertification class and exam...which I did pass!!! And so now the afternoon and the weekend was completey open for the TB mayhem! Joy (pvtjoy) picked me up from class and took me to her office at NBC because she still had to finish out her day. And so I hung around there for the afternoon trying to stay out of her way. She gave me a tour of the lot and some of the studios, and I also was able to stand in the same spot where she gets photographed with all the stars! What a great time I had.
At about 5 we closed shop and went back to her house to meet up with a few other TBs who were going to carpool with us to the Mediterranean Grill.
Joy and Sybil.
My memory is a bit of a haze from that night, but I believe the TBs who came over before we left were Alice, Sybil, Tracy and Angel...hmmm, have I forgotten anyone? We arrived at our destination at 7 pm and it didn't take long for the party to start! The TBs who were there: Joy, Tracy, Sybil, Angel, Rob, Tiffany, Jens, Alice, Grace, Sheila, and me. We had a great dinner, topped off with some great wine and hookas. There was also the belly dancing girl who Jens, Rob, Joy, and I all had our turns dancing with. The things you'll do after a few glasses of wine...
The party then was moved back to Joy's house later in the night. Jens and I were given the traditional pink shirts for the furthest traveled...Jens had me beat but no one knew he was going to be there until a couple of days before and I had already been chosen as the recipient of the award, along with the fact that my birthday was being celebrated. And so besides the shirt, I was also presented with a wonderful chocolate cake made by Alice.
