for me the great tb meetup blonde19 started way back in jan/feb when i was gutted that i couldn't make the amsterdam meetup, and consoled myself with meeting numerous loons with itchy feet at the feb london mini meetup. After chatting to these guys over a few beers a few mentioned that they were heading to the meetup in dusseldorf in april, so as soon as i got back to liverpool an booted the pc up i was handing cash over to mr ryan for a seat on 1 of his planes heading in that general direction (or so i thought ;)) when the day of the meetup came i once again headed south to meet the other tbers flyin out, and was happy to see some familiar faces and even a new1. We landed in wheeze airport which is closer to holland than dusseldorf and promptly got a taxi into the centre, which was incidently longer than the flight to get there haha.

Upon arrival at the train station we were greeted by the mighty lauro, organiser of this shindig.  There were a few other travbuddys there, some of whom i recognised and others i didn't. i'd been looking forward to finaly meeting some of the people who i'd been chatting with on the website, and hopefully meeting loads more cool people for so long it was great to arrive. so after introducing ourselves to the other members and  wolfing down some local fast food (brockwhurst) we headed to the hostel before meeting up with the remaining travbuddys and heading out to see a few of the sights and a few pre-dinner german beers, where lauro was presented with his extremely well earnt trophy (THANKS FOR A SUPERB JOB WELL DONE LAURO) :) The restaurant that'd be chosen was great, although with getting on for around 45+ of us we kinda took over.
The meal was great and the company of so many cool other tbers was fantastic. I tried getting around to speak with everybody, but there was that many of us that i couldn't remember who i had and hadn't spoke too. It was great chatting to such a great bunch and generally having a blast, but alas the time came for us to try and find a bar or club that would let our huge party go and express themselves on the dancefloor. We managed to get those of us who wanted to party into 1 place, where everyone appeared to be having such a great time, i'm not sure what i was drinking out of the dodgy barrell on the end oof the bar, but the glasses were way too small haha. i left the bar in the not so early hrs of the morning wearing some dodgy ginger/red wig i'd aquired from somewhere and headed back to the hostel to pass out on the sofa.

The next morning and we said goodbye to some tbers over breakfast and went to party in the park-well have a beer or 2 and go down the slide with mellisa in the beautiful sunshine before heading off to the obligatory irish bar for sunday roast :) another 135 euro taxi ride and we were back at wheeze airport for the short hop back to stansted, where i was greated by rain and a 230mile drive back to liverpool. Rocked up around 1am a whole 5 hrs before i had to get up for work-perfect timing ;)  ROLL ON ANTWERP!!!!!!
