We got up in time to say goodbye to Peter and Denise and then we were on our way to Albury-Wodonga, which are the border towns between Victoria and New South Wales. Wodonga is south of the Murray River and Albury is north. The road from Geelong
is the best road in the world according to Peter, but I’m not so sure I agree with that, although it is good. It took us quite a while to get past Melbourne because even though this is a good road, the speed limit is still 100 k’s. After Melbourne the road is not as good but the limit goes up to 110, how much sense does that make!? We had a few stops along the way and a few wrong turns (due to more bad signage), but we eventually got there at around 1.30pm.
The cabin was great, very spacious with almost a separate lounge and dining room, two bedrooms and a deck. It was also right beside the playground and the bbq area, so that was ideal! The first thing to do after unpacking was taking Reagan to the playground, but after that she could basically go there on her own. Then we went shopping for groceries, and we got there just in time as the shops were closing for the Melbourne Cup. Merv cooked a bbq for dinner that night and we had that many leftovers that we had the same thing the next night.
