Ever since I was a little kid did I dream about going to Disneyland. At that time little did I think that Hong Kong was supossed to be the spot to fullfill that dream. As a child Disneyland has allways been synonymous with Los Angeles or Florida. But in my adult life, asia has been much more apealing as a travel destination then the U.S.A. - and today I'm acctually in Hong Kong one of the places in the world where Disney has build their themeparks...so ofcourse Disneyland it is today.
Started out by takeing the MRT (subway) to the Disney station and allready when you enter the day does the magic start. You board trains where Disney statues are in every corner of the train and the windows are cut out as a silhouete of Mickey Mouse's face.
There is no doubt about it - a visit to Disneyland is really amazeing - it's starts right down to the details of every house and sign on the streets, up to the Parade and street activities - everything is so detailed and focused and for most of the time you loose track of reality.
I specially enjoyed visiting the Mickey's Pilharmagic theatre - where you actually get to watch a cartoon staring Mickey and Donald in (I assume) 4 D, where it acctually apears as if the characters are stading in front of you on the shoulders of the person in front of you.
Then there's the shows. The idea of doing High School Musical live is both aparent and good. I have to say I got carried away with this show, and enjoyed it a lot. It's a real mood booster :), next comes the Lion King Festival and that one allmost made the hairs on my neck rise. Wow that show was really awesome. Not onley did they just out of the blue roll in an Elephant, Giraf and lion (fake ofcourse but life size none the less) but they told the story with such passion...and the light effects here are really good. Then last but definately not least the parade. Boy... did I look forward to the parade.
I was also surprised a lot...as I entered Tomorrowland and I wanted to try out the space mountain. After having seen all the other attractions I thought well this one just shakes a bit and that's it...so I went into the darkness, sat in the car and after ten seconds of rolling I realised this was acctually an ROLLARCOASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - and the fucked up thing about it is - you see nothing along the way but darkness, stars and planets. Okay I admit, was both shaken and stirred after that ride, and yes it is quite heavy, but ofcourse a great part of the disturbance also comes from the surprise.
In general I had a really good day... had a few quiet moments, where missing the boyfriend that I left behind two days ago became a bit to much and I had to sit down and pull my self together - but it was nevertheless and experience of a lifetime - and I know that I'm comeing back here again....though not alone next time :)
