Wendy's meetup in Leeuwarden
This weekend I was a tourist in own country. I've never been in Leeuwarden, Friesland. Friesland is the northern province of The Netherlands and mostly a agricultural, very flat area. We're used to the big city's of 'de randstad' = the big crowd of South Holland. We're used to big, high buildings, less space in living areas and very high prices. In Leeuwarden it was the opposite; we reached the city after driving for 2,5 hours through farmer areas and lakes. Leeuwarden is a very sweet city, not very big but that was perfect as it was easy to reach the hotel and restaurants.
Wendy organized this meetup and I have to say she did it fantastic, she organized everything real real REAL good. :) Same thing for the kite-part which was been organized by Rowena.
I haven't watched the kite-thing as I went eating something with Bart, Ket Cruise, Alex and Brett. We were all hungry so first walked to a restaurant. The last time I've met Brett we didn't talked much so we did this time. My god I love his eyes! Look at the picture below, he's very special. :) But not only his eyes of course, he's a person full of plans and energy, I like it. After having meal and chocolate cake and (I) did a little peace of shopping it was already time to check in the Eden Orange Hotel, next to the central station and nearby the centre of Leeuwarden. We met the others here again. It felt so good to see you all again and I was very pleased to see my chick, haha, Devi as I always enjoy when she's around. :) It just felt good again. So we went to a village to go for 'Praamsailing'. Here, I've seen a real Friessche man...big and blond, a real dutch guy as we know them from books like the kameleon. Dutch crowd will understand. :D So I felt like a tourist, haha!Praamsailing was peachefull to do. Just sit back and relax...and talking with Devi...and relaxing...watching the food on the table...making pictures....watching some boats...picking fruits from the trees...talking again with Devi...and again...and watching the food again which was really great allthough I haven't taste it...after a 2 hour trip on the boat we went back to our hotel and prepaired for dinner.
We had dinner at Humpreys and this one was even bigger than the one in Amsterdam. We first entered a small area but after some hallways we reached bigger spaces and even more bigger ones and walk up some stairs and reached some diningrooms again.
Real fun actually as I can lost my way right there in that big restaurant but it's nasty when you drunk some wines and have to walk down to the toilet. ;) We sat with Suat and his friend Onur on the end of the table. I met Suat in Amsterdam on my first meetup but we hadn't talked much in Amsterdam. So it was time to make it up. Suat is so great, he seems to be a quiet person but actually have a lot to say. We talked very serieus for a while (Bart and Onur were making fun all the time) but Suat is also very funny and he and Onur are a comic-couple, they can entertain all night if you want. I lauched not only because of the tasty wine but also because they are really funny. :DAfter dinner we went to some places to drink and dance but we went back to the hotels in time.
Most of the TB had to sail on sunday and they had to leave the hotels at 8.00 am so that's very early! When we were all back in the Eden Orange Hotel Devi got a telephone call from Ket that he and some others couldn't entry their hotel, it was completely closed?!! I haven't heard what happened after the many calls but I guess they slept at Wendy's place? I hope they all had a great time after all. I had! I was very pleased to see you all again and most of the TB I've met a few times now became so familiar to me. (lekker vertrouwd bedoel ik dus) So I really enjoyed this weekend, thanks to Wendy! :))) You did a real good job girl!|
