I put Albert, France because that was our starting point and nearest bigger town to the Battlefields. Also that is where the tourist office and museum are. They have a driving route available if you want to see the main sites. We started at the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial, a Canadian memorial where a fierce battle between the Canadians and the Germans happened. Next we went to hawthorn crater; these craters were caused by people tunneling under the enemy's trench and trying to blow the enemies to bits. This one was filled with trees so I couldn’t get any good pictures. Next was the Ulster Tower and then on to the Franco-British Memorial in Thiepval. That is a huge monument to the missing of the Somme. Then we drove on into Albert and saw the museum. And finally we saw the last crater, the Lochnagar Crater. This one doesn’t have trees in it so I got some decent pictures.
