düsseldorf meet up - you're the one!
first of all i want to thank you guys for coming to the meet up in a not-so well known city in
i dont know how many times will i have to say thank you. but i will say it again and again and again.
i think some people thought i was angry or annoyed, and if i have offended people, i am truly truly sorry. i am just so so so stressed from organizing this meet up. i moved heaven and earth to bring people around the world with a common goal in life : to travel.
this is not a blog of how i did or organized the meet up, this blog is somehow for me is different. its about thanking, dedicating - compassion.
i dedicate this meet up to two people who unfortunately could not come to the meet up due to personal reasons - zoey - who lost two members of her family and silvia for being hit by a car. things would not be the same if these wonderful persons were there - zoey for her beautiful and contagious laughter and silvia - eventhough we didnt met before - our passion for rock music and converse shoes. this meet up is for you guys, i hope you overcome your biggest hurdle in life.
i want to apologize too, to the people i had not been able to mingle with inside the restaurant, as i was having a tough time with the head waiter for our orders, but all is well that ends well.
and also a big big sorry for the people, i have not taken pictures in my blog. but for me that is not important, it is the memory i will keep forever that you had attended the meet up and you were there.
thank you for sharing days and nights with me, thank you for putting up always with my annoyed looking face, thank you for putting up that sometimes i am bossy look, thank you for putting up lauro in so many different ways and faces. thank you for becoming my friends during my stay in the continent which i am most at home and thank you that you accepted me as what i am.
this may not be certainly the biggest meet-up ever - but i know that this is certainly the most diverse meet-up with so many different nationalities in travbuddy!
in the past, i always thought that material things can make me happy, but i was wrong - friends are the most important things in life a person could have.
thank you.
and here is a song a dedicated to one night which i thought was only a beautiful dream for me.
More to Lose
Seona Dancing
I was tired of thinking that
Our love can shine your thoughts
Of our arrangements
Were really not like mine
I thought it over
And it was plain to see the love you said
You once needed
Could just not come from me
And now it's over
Both of us free
But I feel colder
A thousand tortured lives have fallen
Wounded dying cut down by the
Questions that we've sharpened
Just to save our losing days
We've thought with nothing more to lose
We'd tear our hearts with jagged truths
And everything we'd clung too far, so long
Just slipped away
We used to cry
About the day when one of us might fall
Weak and blindly into another's arms
Demands of gain from jealouses
Would flow like water drowning us
But leaving us with just another
Lover's false alarm
And now it's over
Both of us free
And I feel colder
And now we're moving to new beginnings
But as we move we looked once behind
To see what we might find out
Lost loves and old thoughts of our nights of winnings
That lunge, tear and grasp
at lost wanting minds

so i had the dillema of which resto can accomodate my friends. my 2 german friends marcelo and kaity helped me search for the most perfect spot in düsseldorf to have dinner altogether - i even had a voting contest of which restos to choose from, and so the trattoria-zollhof won.
it is a quaint, wooden, rustic colored/painted restaurant situated in the media harbor of düsseldorf (medien hafen) and they have a not-so separate corner where a large group of people can eat privately.
arrangements were made and menus are sorted. eventhough it was a chaotic night inside the resto - the headwaiter - stefano and the waitress still kept their head cool in the situation - grazie mi amici.
we have 2 sets of different menu packages and and each menu has fish or meat on it. a 3 course meal which satisfies your craving for an authentic italian cuisine.
of course not be missed - italian and spanish wine were pouring all night - rioja crianza and lugano and for most of the guys - german beers! hahahahaha.
i was very proud of the choice of resto because lots of people said to me that the ambiance, staff and food are all perfect and at the end of the night our bill was 2004 euros! hahahahha.
but money that time was no object, everybody had fun and palates satisfied and thats good enough for all of us.
