It was Halloween-time when we were here.
In 2005, my sister turned 14. As a birthday present, she got this very nice trip to Disneyland Paris
from my parents. I was also invited, so that was even better! I've been to Disneyland a lot of times, but it'll never get boring. I'm a big Disney lover ever since I was a child. The first time I went to Disneyland, I was a little kid. It felt like pure magic and I was having the time of my life.
This would be the first time I was there since the new park, Walt Disney Studios, had opened their doors. We were staying for 3 days so we had enough time to visit both the theme parks. I liked the new park, although it was still a little bit empty and there weren't a lot of attractions.
But at the moment, there have already been a couple of additions. It wasn't very crowded that day, so we jumped into the Rock'N'Roller Coaster two times in a row. Absolute fun with nice music by Aerosmith. This was the only thrill ride at the moment, the other sights in the park were mostly behind the scenes tours and exhibitions. I'm looking forward to return already, mainly because of the new Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror attraction. When I was at Disney Studios Florida, there was an 1,5 hour waiting line so I can't wait to check it out in Paris!
The nice thing was that we could walk from park to park without any limit. We spent most of the time in the classic Disneyland Park. When we were there, Halloween had taken over the park. Everything was decorated really nice and there were cool Halloween-activities.
Me and my dad.
The park was coloured the colour we Dutch people like the most: ORANGE! All kids were walking around with pumpkins painted on their cheeks. Pretty cool, because Halloween isn't celebrated in the biggest part of The Netherlands. Some of my favorite rides are thrill rides Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Indiana Jones. Every area gives you a different feeling. When you're in Fantasyland, it makes you feel like a child again. But when you walk a couple of yards to the west, Adventureland is giving you the feeling of a pirate or like Indiana Jones. I also like Star Tours and Pirates of the Caribbean a lot. Another thing I like about Disney is their side events like parades, Disney characters and musicals. It's a shame the Main Street Electrical Parade isn't in operation anymore, because I always thought that was a good ending of the day.
I hope it's clear that Disneyland parks give me a very special feeling, a lot more special than other theme parks like Six Flags and stuff. There's this whole concern and saga around Disney which attracts me. It's so nostalgic. They focus on other things than just puting 15 rollercoasters in one park. I'm 100% sure that this wasn't my last time in a Disney theme park (or they must all close down tomorrow, lol). California, Florida and Paris are visited, now it's time for Tokyo and Hong Kong! I wonder if there will be more coming, like Dubai..
