If you know me then you know I like military history and I like visiting battlefields. Living here in Belgium gives me more opportunities to visit many battlefields from WW 1 and WW 2. Northern France and Belgium are full of them. So I'm going to make travel blogs of all the places battlefield related. The first one will be Verdun.

Verdun Battlefields

The battle of verdun was a major battle in WW 1 between Germany and France.   It lasted for almost 10 months.  This blog is of when me and my buddy Rainer visted the battlefield back in Feb 07.  Many forts and trenches still remain today.  This is the first in my battlefields blog series.  Later ones will be,  Ypres and flanders fields in Belgium, Battle of the Somme and Vimy ridge in France, Wateloo, Battle of the bulge, Fort Eban Emael in Belgium, and then the Normandy Beaches.

I can't believe someone had the audacity to vandalize such sacred ground!! That's horrible they stole the bayonets! ~Jeff

Yeah that was the third time I've been there, and still find new and different things. We found trenches and bunkers out in the forest and stuff like that.
