Well we've done it.  We braved London for three months and arrived home in relatively good condition.  Our trip is over, and as I sit in MY bed on MY computer in MY house I can't help but appreciate it all so much more.  Privacy at last!  :D

But I will miss it.  This was the experience of a lifetime.  And I really enjoyed sharing it with everyone here, reading all the comments and getting to know others through their journals as well.  <3 for London and for TravBuddy!

The last days were pretty uneventful.  We were going to go to the Notting Hill Carnival on Sunday but it rained and we just wanted to relax.  Ended up at Camden Town Market for one last cheapo lunch and look.

Then on Monday we went to Hamstead Heath, which is another park kind of near where we were staying.  Only, unlike most of the other parks we'd seen, this one was less of a park and more of a place where they just didn't build anything (thank David for that line).  It was really nice.  Took a walk through the forest and eventually stumbled upon a fun faire where we had sausages and chips for lunch.  Then we went to meet up with Weslie and Simon where we watched some TV, ordered a cab for the morning, and went out for Nandos, gelato, and then drinks at the pub.  What a way to end it! :D

Things I will miss about London (in no particular order):
  1. Public transportation that works
  2. Nandos and Wagamama
  3. Pubs and cask ales
  4. Museums who don't have to pretend they have something important because they really actually DO have something important
  5. HUGE parks and a city that recognizes that green spaces are important
  6. Jacket potatoes
  7. Pimms and Lemonade
  8. So many different cultures in one place!
  9. The Gadget Show
  10. Flakes
There's so much more but I can't think right now because its 9pm here... and therefore 2am to my body.  I have a ton to do tomorrow and we are facing another hurricane, possibly hitting New Orleans the very day I arrive there.  :(  So I'm going to say goodnight for one last time.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and appreciate.  xxxx
