We decided to head to the Cathedral Notre Dame first. I can't explain to you how MASSIVE this church was. I mean, it was just completely mind-blowing how big it is. And beautiful, too. Unfortunately, none of my pictures came out very well. :(
From there is was off to the Louvre. David and I split from the rest of the group because we all know about David and his art. :D Actually, going to an art museum just him and I is nice because he takes the time to explain to me about the paintings and the artists. You can tell he's really passionate about the subject.
We saw a lot of things you only read about: the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and Hammurabi's Code among many, many others.
It was absolutely exhausting! I had to sit often because my feet were killing me from the last two days, and once I let David wander off while I sat on a bench. I promptly dozed off and awoke only when my head fell back and my sunglasses went scattering across the floor. :x
After that it was time to head back to the hostel to collect our things and head off for the train ride home. David and I bought some french bread and salami to make sandwiches and I felt like the ultimate thrifty backpacker. lol... We were so tired that by the time we got home (about 7pm I think) we passed out without even eating supper (which is rare for a fatty like me, lol).
All and all our Paris adventure was extremely rewarding! My favorite part of our summer so far. I will always cherish the memory of sitting under the Eiffel Tower just enjoying life. Ah! :D
