Singapore Zoological Gardens - why the Zoo is sooo popular ",)
We were in Singapore Zoo and Night Safari last August and they will alway be good memories for me. My friends and I were talking about how the zoo, big as it is, was being run.
That question, my friends, was answered last February when I was able to meet Ms. Isabel Cheng, Marketing Director of Singapore Zoo who gave a comprehensive presentation (my, 100+ powerpoint slides) about how they do sales and marketing in the zoo including things like celebrating birthday for Inuka and the other animals and/or having elephants wear boots when they got injured. Her team was amazingly good and brilliant.
Ms. Cheng was our guest in the 1st Asian Children's Museum's Conference held in Manila Hotel last Feb.

meeting the sea lions - Splash Safari
another show - yipee, this time with the wonderful Californian sea lions :) Boy, we were so glad to know the zoo has a Splash Safari show.
So, we went to the Splash Ampitheater and waited for the show to begin - we were not disappointed.
here comes the sea lions
gotcha!
Can't get enough of Singapore Zoo
one day is not enough - definitely not enough.. if you are planning to visit Singapore Zoological gardens, you have to give it more time - there is sooo many to see.

meeting INUKA - the ONLY POLAR BEAR born in the tropics
we were able to see so many animals in the Singapore zoo - the highlight of which was INUKA - the only polar bear ever to be born in the tropics. His parents were Nanook (from Winnipeg Zoo, Canada) and Sheba (Cologne Zoo, Germany)
The name Inuka (thanks wiki) was chosen from amongst 390 names suggested in a nationwide naming contest. We were so lucky that he came out to meet us :)
thanks for the smile Inuka:)

Singapore Zoo
of course, we have to go back at day time to visit the zoological garden - which is 28 hectares big. The zoo has an open concept and houses 315 different species - wOw!
We paid 21.50 Singapore dollars for zoo admission with tram ride (my, we don't plan on hiking the entire zoo) although there are trails to follow if one feels like hiking :)
welcome
