Singapore Changi Airport - the world's best

Singapore Travel Blog › entry 1 of 7 › view all entries

I fell in love with Singapore the first time I set foot at Changi Airport - one of the best in the world. I was there last August for a conference and we stayed in River View Hotel while the venue was held in Grand Copthorne Waterfront. Together with the children, we enjoyed the zoo, the night safari and the science center. Of course, top of the list was the Merlion and also the Esplanade. Sad to say though, we were not able to visit Sentosa which, I will definitely visit next time.

Singapore Changi Airport - the world's best

Yehey - we're in Singapore already.. we arrived in Changi airport full of excitement.. we then stepped into Changi airport which is also a shopping city in a sense - so many shops, a movie house and own airport hotel.. we didn't want to leave yet - if only we weren't thinking of our friends waiting for us outside carrying our names in the welcome area... LOL Well they did think we were lost because they almost got us paged in the airport, hahaha.. We were having fun time around the mall, er.. airport LOL

Singapore skies (7 PM)

After 3 hours or more, we arrived in Singapore by 7pm and it was a different evening - the skies were still bright and the sun still shining (different from the Philippines  where the sun sets an hour earlier).

My first time in Singapore and for free - what more can I ask for?

Changi airport

Yep, it was for both business and pleasure. It was an awesome 10-day experience.

We had a great hotel to stay, we had a free tour arranged for us by our sister office in Singapore, we were able to meet friends and colleagues from the 98 countries our organization is currently in.

Above all, we were able to bring 15 wonderful, talented kids from the poorest of the poor villages of the Philippines to perform a theater play they created themselves, to sing songs they composed on their own and to share their one dream - peace amidst diversities and differences. Truly amazing. And yes, it was for all of us to celebrate that "God truly reigns".

Well, we have been excited for this trip for weeks. What was also great was that my best friend Don-don was also traveling with the group and it was more fun to have people you know what jokes to give and what things to talk about.

Our flight was Davao-Singapore thru Silk Air  and we had a stop-over in Cebu for an hour. It was a bumpy ride to Cebu (yeah, like we were on a bus) - not one of my favorite flights. We stayed for a while in the Cebu International airport and by 4 pm, at last, we were ready to fly to Singapore.
