Crazy Venice Boardwalk

After a few more days on the road and having time swallowed up on LA's freeways, we were in need of some relaxation and, much more importantly, a tan. Our hostel, Venice Beach Cotel, was in a perfect location right on the boardwalk. We got there at around 6pm and it was too late for any sunbathing so we had alook along the boardwalk and back to soak up the last of the evening freak-show. Luckily, the bar next door to our hostel had a great happy hour so we stayed there until we were hungry and walked about 35 minutes to the outskirts of Santa Monica before finding Finn McCools, an Irish bar no less, for dinner. Back at the hostel we had the hottest night imaginable and he most uncomfortable 'sleep' ever.
Tuesday finally started at around 1pm and we hit the beach to catch-up on some sleep.
Wednesday followed almost exactly the same pattern as the day before: Beach, lunch, beach, happy hour, dinner, drinks and finally getting kicked out of the Townhouse at closing. We did see the finest facial hair in the world on not one but two guys who I don't think knew each other and didn't seem to be doing it for bets. Two of the three musketeers were in Venice that night.
So by Thursday morning it was heavy-heart time as our relaxation in Venice and our fantastic two and a half weeks with Ad was at an end. We saw him off at LAX and headed for an airport hotel to kill a night before our flight to Santiago.
