A montage of my weekend trip to New York City from March, 2008.

This morning there was a group of us that decided to do a horse carriage ride through Central Park for $34. I was very happy this morning as I passed my kidney stone before we left the hotel! I was so estatic that I wouldn't have to strain anymore or have pain. YEA! The carraige ride was nice and many people were jogging thru the park. Our driver pointed out the bridge that was used in the movie, "Home Alone" and a building in "Ghostbusters". Also we saw the skating rink and vendors selling misc. things. It was a cool morning but no rain. Next Bernie wanted to attend mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Even though I am protestant I told her I would go with her and maybe stand outside. I went inside and actually stood in the back while Bernie found a seat and ultimately ended up in the front.

One man thought he was blocking my view (many people were coming in and standing) and apologized. I responded with "That's ok, I'm protestant anyways" and he said he was too. lol Many people were in & out of here; one with a rolling suitcase and another with his headphones on still listening to his music! I thought he should at least turn it off while he was in church! As I was still standing, I started to get anxious when after thinking the end of the service was near, it really wasn't. So an hour later, my friend emerged and kept apologizing for it taking too long. It still wasn't over. Oh well, I just wanted to eat now! We ate at Rosie O'Grady's to which I got 3 items for $23. My starter was spinach salad with crumpled blue cheese & walnuts, a 10 ounce New York steak and dessert was CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY CAKE.

The waitor was like"Sorry, we are out of brownie cheesecake" but the raspberry cake was excellant, as was all of the food!

We had a little bit of time before the show so we found the M&M store which had anything & everything to do with M&M'S. You name it: pillows, blankets, bags, mugs and of course M&M's of all colors! I was so overwhelmed that I didn't but any! We then spotted the Hershey chocolate store across the street from it. My what a dreamland! Hershey syrup bottles were huge and the chocolate bar was 5 lbs.! I would have gotten one if I didn't have to carry it to the show and the lines here were very long. We didn't want to be late for the show so we didn't buy anything here either. (sad face) Next time I go back, I WILL buy some type of chocolate.

Our last stop in New York was the main reason we came; to see the broadway production of "Grease". It was at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. I did buy pink lady tee-shirts for my neices. The show was good but neither of us liked the actors that played Danny & Sandy; they were the ones that won the reality show on tv; "Grease, You're the one that I Want". I did enjoy Kenickie though; Marty & Rizzo. They were great. The play was a little different than the movie where as "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee" wasn't sung in the girl's bedroom, it was performed later in the show on the school steps with the guys present. "Freddy My Love" was performed by Marty in the girls room. After the prom, Danny had to go on a date with Cha Cha but Danny went to the prom with Rizzo instead of Sandy. She stayed at home on prom night. (kind of like me, although I did go to the post prom) lol It was a fun show and we left straight for home right after the show. It was a fun trip and I would like to go back since there is so much to see and do. I liked New York better than I thought I would, with the exception of Chinatown but I could/would never live there. Definitely do want to visit again. :)
