Our time in Paris was split in two with some time in Normandy in the middle. We initially stayed out of the centre of Paris and used the metro each day to navigate into the city. I would like to clarify something for all the Kiwis out there that hear stories of the people in Paris being hard to get along with and that is, I have no idea where these stories are coming from!!!!!!!!! Everyone we encountered in Paris was lovely! I even had a woman walk me part way back to my hotel when I lost Mike and when I offered to pay her for this she just said, " I like to help." Beautiful people!!!
Okay so that out of the way the sights were also amazing! We saw the Cathedral Notre dame ,which I would have to say is one of the best we have seen and The Arc De Triomphe, with the amazing roundabout where you have no insurance - needless to say we did not drive around here! The Louvre was amazing, however after four and a half hours we still hadn't seen half of what was on offer, if you come to this museum give yourself a day to see everything, we will see the other half next time! We also went up Montmartre where the artists gather and the views of the city are spectacular and ofcourse we visited the Eiffle Tower, which we were not overly impressed with by but could see why others were, just not our kind of architecture I guess! We enjoyed beautiful French food for our anniversary and indulged in the French champagne and chocolate.
