Day 22 -23 - Stellenbosch

Day 22 - Time to get High!
Me and Gayle decided we want to stay a night in Stellenborch and go for a wine tasting tour. The whole tour last from 1030am to 5pm and it takes us to 4 wineries for 350Rand (S$70) We stayed at a hostel call Stumble-Inn, very appropriate for this occasion.

There were 4 dutch girls in the group and a couple , Jess and Richie from melbourne. Overall, the winetasting was good but the company was not great! The Dutch girls were unfriendly, fat, rude and rough and basically kept to themselves so we just hang out with Jess and Richie and get drunk together!

Day 23 - Shopping Day!
Gayle will be returning to Canada soon and so she has let loose and started with her shopping spree! It took me a lot of will power not to give in to temptations, especially when I am getting really sick of my 4 tops,2 pants and 1 skirt!
Girls will totally understand how shitty I am feeling,. Seriously, I am feeling every bit the scruffy and unkempt backpacker as I walk the malls in Cape town.
Just a note, they have got good quality stuff at very good prices.
Nigel is the best host that one can hope to find. He has been nothing but helpful so far and when he is not free to send us around, he will arrange his nephew Sean to do the work.  Yesterday he sent us to Stellenborsch and today he sent us for our shopping spree.
After that, he brought us to Camps Bay for sundowners and brought a bottle of red wine along while we enjoy the beautiful sunset.. When we got home, he made us a sumptuous dinner of chops and corns.. yummy.. Like his carnivorious  parakeet - Nunu ... he is cheeky and always wants to kiss me :)

Day 24 - Last chance to Party in Cape Town
It is our last day in Cape town before we head out to Namibia tomorrow. It was a mad rush to the travel agent to get my flight out of Livingstone, Zambia to Dar el Saalam (Tanzania) via Air Zambia which burn a hole in my pocket. Maybe because I am gradually getting use to budgeting but 2651Rand (S$530) seems like a lot to me, even though I am flying across countries.  Gayle has to rushed to the airport to get her return flight changed (again for the 2nd time) as she is simply reluctant to go home after 6 months of travelling. Finally , we were ready to go with Nigel to his friend's house for a lunch get together. Nigel prepared a hotpot curry chicken while I helped peeled the potatoes.. food was marvellous and it was just fun to hang out with the locals and their family for a day of beer, food and laughter.

Now, I am back in the backpackers in Long street as we meet early tomorrow morning for the tour departure. I will probably not be able to blog for the next 3 weeks as we will be camping in the desert and staying in some secluded places. In fact, I was looking at the itinerary earlier on and it seems there will be 3 days that I will not be getting a shower
